Beidahu Ski Resort
Plan the trip
Beidahu lies in Jilin, 53 kilometres from the city and 126 from Longjia international airport. It served as a training base for the Beijing Olympics in 2022 and has held the Asian Winter Games and freestyle World Cup rounds.
The mountain sits in one of the world's better snow belts. Ridges enclose it on three sides so the wind almost never reaches it, the winter average is around thirteen degrees below freezing, and snow lies for up to 160 days. That gives dry, near powder conditions, and the place is nicknamed the powder paradise.
There are 74 runs totalling 80 kilometres with 870 metres of vertical, served by 13 cable cars and 7 magic carpets that together move 31000 people an hour. 230 hectares are set aside for beginners and intermediates. Eight hotels with 2300 rooms and 8000 beds stand in the resort, alongside a service centre on a scale few in Asia can match.
