Big White Ski Resort

Plan the trip
Fog and flat light affect Big White more than most resorts. The same cloud that freezes the trees into the towering white shapes the resort calls snow ghosts sits on the mountain for days at a time, so plan for it.
There is night skiing, a tube park and an ice rink for those afternoons, and a hotel with its own hot tub is worth the small premium. Otherwise this is a large ski in and ski out village high in the British Columbia interior, self contained and family oriented, with almost every bed on the snow and Kelowna airport an hour away. The terrain is broad and moderate with a great deal of comfortable groomed skiing and excellent gladed runs between the ghosts. Beginners are very well served and prices are modest.
