Plan the trip

A mountain between Wanaka and Queenstown on New Zealand's South Island, on a high basin above the Cardrona valley, and one of the best equipped resorts in the country.

The terrain is a wide open basin with a good spread of gentle and intermediate ground and steeper chutes above, and the terrain parks and Olympic standard halfpipes have made it a training base for teams from the northern hemisphere.

The season runs from June to October. There is limited lodging on the mountain and most people stay in Wanaka, half an hour away, which is a lake town with a good food scene. Queenstown is around an hour by road over the Crown Range.
