Colorado has no longer season. A Basin often opens in October and runs into June, and it is one of the highest ski areas in North America with the base at 3289 metres and the summit at 3814.

The terrain ranks among the most demanding on the continent, but the tone of the place is relaxed and without any stiffness. They cap crowds on purpose to keep the mountain from filling up.

They are also carbon neutral, a target reached two years ahead of plan, running on fully renewable electricity since late 2023.
