One of the three linked areas above Santiago in the Chilean Andes, sharing terrain with El Colorado and Valle Nevado on the Tres Valles pass, about an hour and a half from the city.

The skiing is high and treeless with open terrain and a good vertical, suited to confident intermediates, and the views across the Andes from the top are enormous. The season runs from June to September.

La Parva is the most residential of the three, built as a village of houses and apartments used by Santiago families, so it is quieter than its neighbours and has a settled feel.

Snow conditions in the central Andes vary considerably from year to year, so it is worth checking recent reports before committing to flights.
