Plan the trip

Known throughout Norway for two things, a great deal of snow and a long season, and regarded as one of the best areas in the country for off piste and freeriding.

The centre sits between the fjords and the mountain plateau in a spot that catches Atlantic weather, and the snow depth here regularly exceeds anywhere else in the south.

The lift served terrain is modest, but the skiing beyond the pistes is why people drive a long way to get here. A guide is worth arranging if the terrain is new to you.

There is a ski school operating most days. Bergen and Stavanger are both around three hours away.
