Germany
Feldberg

Plan the trip
The biggest ski area in the Black Forest and the highest mountain in Germany outside the Alps, around an hour from Freiburg and reachable by train and bus.
The terrain is gentle and open with a large number of lifts across a broad summit area, and the whole thing is well set up for families and beginners.
The Feldberg has a long history in German skiing, with organised skiing here going back to the 1890s. The surrounding Black Forest has an extensive cross country network and a strong food tradition. Basel and Zurich are both within a couple of hours.
