Plan the trip

The area has two sides and two entirely different moods. From Le Tour, eleven kilometres from Chamonix, the Charamillon side runs down wide gentle slopes bathed in light, with the whole Chamonix valley below you. Cross to the Vallorcine side and you drop into fir forest and hushed, wilder skiing right against the Swiss border.

This is the part of the Chamonix valley known as Ski Nature. Open ground and easy gradients, which is the opposite of what Chamonix is otherwise known for, and that makes it the place in the valley for families and for anyone who would rather ski well than ski brave.

There is a timed slalom course in the piste that films your run and sends you home with the video. The pass is Chamonix Le Pass.
