Haute-Savoie, France
Les Portes du Mont-Blanc

Plan the trip
Combloux, La Giettaz, Sallanches and Cordon share this area on the sunny side of the Arve valley, directly opposite Mont Blanc. The view is the defining feature and it is in front of you on almost every run.
The skiing is gentle and wooded, with a great deal of easy and intermediate terrain, which makes it a good place for families and for anyone in their first few seasons. It links to Megève on the same pass, so a bigger day is always available.
Combloux is a real Savoyard village with a baroque church and a Saturday market, and prices sit noticeably below Megève next door. Chamonix is half an hour away for a change of scale.
