Espace Diamant

Plan the trip
Five small villages between the Beaufortain and the Val d'Arly, with an uninterrupted view of Mont Blanc from much of the area. Les Saisies hosted the Nordic events of the 1992 Olympics and still maintains an extensive trail network, which makes this an unusually good choice for a group where not everyone skis downhill.
The downhill is easy and pleasant rather than demanding, with a great deal of blue terrain, open ground above the villages and woods lower down. Strong skiers will cover it quickly, but for families and improvers it is one of the best value large areas in France. Small hotels and apartments are French run and inexpensive, and the area is barely known outside the country. Beaufort cheese comes from the valley below and the cellars take visitors.
