Boyne Mountain

Plan the trip
A resort in northern Michigan near Boyne Falls, the original mountain of the Boyne group, which went on to own resorts across North America.
The vertical is modest and the terrain is gentle and heavily groomed, aimed at families and beginners, with extensive snowmaking that does nearly all the work. There is a large lodge at the base with an indoor water park, and the resort operates year round.
It has a place in American ski history as the site of one of the first chairlifts in the Midwest, bought second hand from Sun Valley. Detroit is around four hours away.
