United States
Granite Peak Ski Area

Plan the trip
The largest ski area in Wisconsin, on Rib Mountain above Wausau, with the biggest vertical in the state and a well developed lift system for a Midwestern hill.
The terrain is a good spread with gentle learning ground, comfortable intermediate cruising and genuinely steep runs off the summit, plus glade skiing that is unusual for the region.
Snowmaking covers essentially everything and the grooming is thorough.
Rib Mountain State Park surrounds the area. Milwaukee is around two and a half hours away and Minneapolis about three and a half.
