Cypress Mountain

Plan the trip
The largest of the three mountains above Vancouver, in a provincial park half an hour from downtown, and the venue for the freestyle and snowboard events of the 2010 Winter Olympics.
The terrain is a good spread with the biggest vertical of the North Shore mountains and genuine advanced runs, plus night skiing on much of it. There is also a large Nordic area with cross country trails and snowshoe routes, which is separate from the downhill.
The snow is coastal and heavy and the mountain sits fairly low, so conditions vary with the freezing level. On a clear evening the view down onto the city is remarkable.
