Grouse Mountain

Plan the trip
The closest ski area to downtown Vancouver, reached by a gondola from the edge of the city, with the whole metropolitan area and the harbour laid out below you.
That view, especially at night with the city lit up, is the defining feature and the reason a great many visitors ride up without skiing at all. The terrain is modest with a good learning area and floodlit evening skiing on most of it, and the snow is coastal and heavy.
There is a mountaintop complex with restaurants, a wildlife refuge with grizzly bears and a lumberjack show, so it operates as a general attraction as much as a ski area.
