San Martino di Castrozza - Passo Rolle

Plan the trip

A resort beneath the Pale di San Martino, a wall of pale Dolomite rock that turns pink at sunset and is among the most photographed in the range. The skiing is spread across two areas either side of the village, plus the Passo Rolle above it, and it is mostly intermediate with wide well groomed runs and a good beginner area. The Tognola side gets the sun and the Ces side holds snow longer.

It is on the Dolomiti Superski pass but sits well away from the Sella circuit, so the pistes are quieter than in the busier valleys. San Martino is an old resort with a long alpine climbing tradition and a settled Italian feel, and the Paneveggio forest nearby supplied wood for Stradivarius violins.
