A quiet, sunny sector of the Vialattea in Piedmont, sitting on a shelf above the valley between Cesana and Sestriere. It held the women's Olympic downhill in 2006 and the course is still there. The pistes are wide and well groomed, mostly intermediate, and noticeably emptier than Sestriere over the ridge because far fewer people stay here. The lift pass covers the whole Vialattea and reaches into France at Montgenèvre. The base is a compact purpose built village rather than an old settlement, with apartments and a couple of hotels and very little going on after dark. Turin is around an hour and a half away, and Cesana below has more life if you want an evening out.
