A small Vermont mountain near Woodstock, formerly known as Suicide Six and renamed after the Abenaki name for the hill, with a place in American ski history as the site of the first rope tow in the United States in 1934.

The terrain is modest with three lifts and a genuine steep face that gave the old name its meaning, and the mountain is used mostly by families and by the Woodstock community.

A million dollar snowmaking upgrade was carried out recently, which matters on a hill this low. Woodstock village is one of the most attractive in New England, with a covered bridge and a grand inn, and it is worth the visit on its own.
