Okemo Mountain

Plan the trip
A Vermont mountain with a long standing reputation for grooming and for family service, and one of the better organised operations in the east.
The terrain is mostly gentle and intermediate with a big spread of well maintained runs, which makes it a strong choice for families and for people building confidence. There are terrain parks across several difficulty levels and a separate learning area away from through traffic.
Ludlow at the base is a small Vermont town with places to eat and stay, and the whole area is easy to reach from Boston or New York for a weekend. Snowmaking covers nearly all of the mountain, which is why it opens early and stays reliable through an inconsistent eastern winter.
