Mount Snow

Plan the trip
The closest major mountain to New York City, around four hours away in southern Vermont, which shapes everything about it. Weekends are busy, midweek is calm, and the whole operation is built to move a lot of people efficiently.
The main face is broad and gentle with excellent grooming, and the Carinthia side is given over entirely to terrain parks, which is unusual and makes it one of the best park mountains in the east. Snowmaking is extensive and reliable. The North Face gives steeper terrain for people who want it. Wilmington and West Dover nearby have inns and places to eat, and the whole Deerfield valley has a settled New England feel.
