White Pass Ski Area

Plan the trip

A ski area on White Pass in Washington State, south of Mount Rainier, and the mountain where the Mahre twins learned to ski before winning Olympic medals. The terrain is a good spread with gentle groomed runs and a back side called Paradise Basin that opened relatively recently and roughly doubled the area. The snow is heavy coastal snow in quantity, and the pass sits high enough to keep it cold more often than not. There is limited lodging at the base and Yakima sits an hour away. Mount Rainier national park is right next door and the whole area is quiet.
