A mountain in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, remote by the standards of that state, and home to Burke Mountain Academy which has produced a long line of American ski racers. The terrain is genuine with a good vertical, narrow classic New England runs and excellent glades, and the mountain is quiet because it is a long way from anywhere. There is lodging at the base and East Burke village nearby is small.

The Kingdom Trails network here is one of the best known mountain biking areas in the eastern United States, which brings a different crowd in summer. Boston is around three and a half hours away.
