A resort in the Sierra Nevada above Huntington Lake in central California, and the closest skiing to Fresno and the central valley.

The terrain is a good spread across a compact mountain with gentle learning ground and steeper runs off the summit, and there is night skiing at weekends.

The snowpack in this part of the Sierra is heavy and variable, so conditions swing between excellent and thin depending on the year.

Yosemite is around two hours away by road in summer, though the direct routes close in winter. Prices are low and the crowds are largely regional.
