The Alpine Meadows side of Palisades Tahoe, linked to the main mountain by a gondola since 2022 after sixty years of running separately.

It is quieter than the Palisades side and better suited to intermediates, with wide open bowls, long groomed runs and a good deal of terrain that opens up as the season builds.

The Sierra snowpack here is heavy and abundant, and the upper mountain holds it well into spring. One ticket covers both mountains, so Alpine works as the calmer half of a week that also includes KT-22. Truckee is fifteen minutes away and Reno about an hour.
