Homewood Ski Area

Plan the trip
A small mountain on the west shore of Lake Tahoe, directly above the water, with a view down onto the lake from almost every run that is among the best in California. The terrain is a good spread with gentle groomed ground and steeper tree skiing, and the mountain is sheltered enough to keep running when wind holds the lifts elsewhere at Tahoe.
It has always been the quiet alternative to the big resorts on the north shore, with a local following and thin crowds. Tahoe City is ten minutes away and Reno around an hour and a half. Check current operating status before planning a trip, as the resort has been through changes in recent years.
