A family run mountain in the central Sierra Nevada of California, near Pinecrest Lake, and the closest ski area to the Sonora and Modesto region. The terrain is a good spread across a compact mountain with gentle learning ground and steeper runs higher up, and the snowpack in this part of the Sierra can be substantial.

Pinecrest below is a lake and camping area that is busy in summer and quiet in winter, and there is limited lodging nearby. Prices are lower than at the Tahoe resorts and the crowds are largely local. Yosemite is close by, though the direct high routes close in winter.
