Plan the trip

A resort built on service rather than terrain. The grooming is done to a standard nobody else attempts, a daily cap on lift tickets keeps the mountain from ever feeling full, and the food on the hill is good enough that people plan the day around it. The skiing is beautifully prepared intermediate and advanced terrain across several peaks, with an excellent ski school and strong beginner areas. Nobody comes here for anything extreme, and snowboards are not permitted, which is a decision the resort has held for its whole history.

It is expensive and unashamedly so, aimed at families and older skiers who value comfort over adventure. Lodges sit at the base, rentals are available in town, and Park City's Main Street is minutes away and supplies the evenings. Buy tickets early, because the cap means they sell out, and reserve the mountain restaurants, which take bookings and deserve them.
