A mountain on the flank of Mount Timpanogos in Utah, less than an hour from Salt Lake City, bought by Robert Redford in 1969 and developed deliberately slowly with an emphasis on keeping the canyon as it was.
The terrain is a good spread across two faces, with gentle groomed ground on the front and steeper tree skiing on the back, and the mountain is quiet compared with the Cottonwood canyons.
The resort has an arts programme, a theatre and workshops alongside the skiing, which is unlike anywhere else in American skiing.
The lodging is cabins and cottages spread through the trees. Provo is twenty minutes away.
