A resort in French Catalonia on the Cerdagne plateau, with more sunshine hours than almost anywhere in France and an altitude training centre used by athletes from many sports.

The skiing is sunny and mostly intermediate with extensive snowmaking, which is essential at this latitude, and there is a large Nordic area alongside.

Font Romeu is a substantial town with schools, shops and a year round life, and the surrounding Cerdagne is Catalan speaking with its own food and architecture. The solar furnace at Odeillo, one of the largest in the world, is right there and open to visitors. Perpignan is around ninety minutes away.
