Peyragudes
Plan the trip
A resort in the central French Pyrenees formed from two older areas either side of a col, at Peyresourde and Les Agudes, with the runs facing in different directions.
The skiing is sunny and largely intermediate with a good vertical and open terrain above the treeline. An altiport at the top was used in a James Bond film and the runway is skiable, which the resort makes a point of.
Bagnères de Luchon in the valley below is a thermal spa town of some standing with a real French life and its own gondola into another ski area. Prices sit well below the Alps, and Toulouse is around two and a half hours away.
