The sunny side of the Grindelwald valley, reached by gondola from the village, facing the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau across the valley. The skiing is open and mostly intermediate with long descents back towards the village, and this side has traditionally been the freestyle and snowboard end of the Grindelwald area.

First is as much a year round attraction as a ski area. The Cliff Walk, a walkway pinned to the rock face at the top station, the First Flieger zip line and the mountain cart runs all operate alongside the skiing. The Jungfrau region pass covers Wengen and Mürren as well, and the railway network makes getting around straightforward.
