Plan the trip

Engelberg in central Switzerland, with the Titlis glacier above it reaching over 3000 metres and a rotating cable car that turns through a full circle on the way up. The skiing is high and snow sure, and the Laub run off the Steinberg is one of the most famous off piste descents in Switzerland, a long open face that experienced skiers plan trips around. The pisted terrain is mostly intermediate.

Engelberg itself is a working village built around a Benedictine monastery that still functions, with a cheese dairy open to visitors. Lucerne is around forty minutes away by train, which makes this one of the easiest Swiss areas to reach without a car.
