Switzerland
Disentis/Mustér

Plan the trip
A mountain in the Surselva in Graubünden above a village built around a Benedictine abbey that has stood since the eighth century and still functions.
The skiing runs from the valley up to nearly 2800 metres, which gives a substantial vertical, and the terrain is mostly intermediate with serious off piste higher up that has a strong local following.
Disentis sits on the Glacier Express line, so arriving by train is straightforward and scenic, and Andermatt is linked over the Oberalp pass by the same railway. The Surselva is Romansh speaking with its own food and culture, and prices are moderate for Switzerland.
