The mountain with the biggest reputation in the United States, and it is earned. Rendezvous Mountain gives 1260 metres of continuous vertical, and the tram to the top serves terrain that is steep from the moment you step off.

Corbet's Couloir is the run everyone photographs, but the mountain around it is what keeps people coming back, with open bowls, chutes and gladed terrain that reward local knowledge. There is good intermediate skiing on the Apres Vous side, though the grading is honest and a blue here is a red elsewhere.

Teton Village at the base has hotels and restaurants. Jackson town, twenty minutes away, is a genuine western town with galleries, bars and elk antler arches in the square.

The Tetons rise straight out of the valley floor with no foothills, which is why the view from the valley is one of the most photographed in America.
