La Bresse - Hohneck

Plan the trip
The largest ski area in the Vosges, in eastern France near the German border, on a range of rounded granite summits that are quite unlike the Alps.
The terrain is wooded and mostly gentle with a large number of lifts for the size of the area, thorough snowmaking and a good learning operation. There is night skiing and a rail toboggan.
The Vosges have a strong local culture with Alsatian influence and a food tradition built on cheese and charcuterie. Prices are among the lowest in France and the crowds are entirely regional. Strasbourg and Nancy are both within a couple of hours.
