Jura, France
Les Rousses

Plan the trip
A family resort in the high Jura on the Swiss border, spread across four villages and four separate mountains, in a landscape of forest and plateau that is quite unlike the Alps.
The downhill terrain is gentle and wooded and suits families and beginners well. The real strength here is Nordic skiing, because the Jura has one of the largest cross country networks in Europe and the Grande Traversée du Jura passes through.
Geneva is around forty minutes away, which makes this one of the easiest French areas to reach from that airport. The villages have an ordinary Jura life built on watchmaking and cheese, and Comté is made all around.
