One of the largest skiable areas in the United States, served by an unusually small number of lifts. Much of the terrain is reached by traversing, by snowcat, or by a bus that collects you from the bottom of runs with no lift at all. That structure produces the emptiest big mountain in Utah. Powder days last well beyond the first morning here, because so few people are on the hill. The skiing is open bowls, ridges and widely spaced trees rather than groomed pistes, and it suits confident skiers who are comfortable reading terrain for themselves.

There is essentially no village. Eden and Ogden below are the bases and Salt Lake City is an hour and a quarter away. Access arrangements have been changing as the resort moves towards membership, so check what is actually on sale before you book flights.
