Sandia Peak Ski Area

Plan the trip

A small ski area on the eastern side of the Sandia mountains above Albuquerque in New Mexico, at over 3000 metres, with the city spread out below.

The terrain is modest and mostly gentle with a good learning area, and the season depends heavily on what the winter brings at this latitude.

The Sandia Peak Tramway on the western side is one of the longest aerial tramways in the world and climbs from the edge of the city to the crest, which is the outing most visitors come for. Albuquerque is twenty minutes away and Santa Fe an hour, with a much larger ski area of its own.
