A small, quiet resort in the upper Valtellina beneath the Ortler massif, at the entrance to the Stelvio national park, and one of the most reliable places for snow in Lombardy because of the altitude.

The Deborah Compagnoni piste here holds World Cup races and is named after the local skier who won three Olympic golds. The terrain around it is mostly intermediate, north facing and well groomed, with a long descent from the top station.

There are only a handful of lifts, so this is a place for people who want quiet skiing rather than variety. Bormio is fifteen minutes away on the same regional pass and gives a bigger day.

The village is small and traditional and the surrounding national park is the largest in the Italian Alps.
