Plan the trip
Madonna di Campiglio is one of the most elegant resorts in Italy, in a bowl beneath the Brenta Dolomites, which stand apart from the main Dolomite range and look quite different because of it. The skiing is immaculately groomed and mostly intermediate, spread across several linked sectors including Pinzolo and Folgarida Marilleva, with the Canalone Miramonti race piste dropping straight towards the village.
The town has an old Habsburg connection, since the Austrian court holidayed here, and it still runs a costumed ball in period dress each winter that is more serious than it sounds. Hotels are comfortable and expensive, the shopping is real, and the evening passeggiata is part of the day. The Adamello Brenta nature park surrounds the whole valley.
