Silver Mountain Resort
Plan the trip
A mountain above Kellogg in the Idaho panhandle, reached by the longest single stage gondola in the world, which climbs over five kilometres from the town to the ski area. That gondola is the practical answer to a mountain whose base sits well above the valley. The terrain is steep and heavily wooded with a good vertical and a reliable inland snowpack.
Kellogg is a former mining town on the interstate, which makes the resort easy to reach, and there is an indoor water park at the base. Spokane is around ninety minutes away. Prices are low and the mountain is rarely busy.
