Tschiertschen

Plan the trip

Small but very good. Tschiertschen sits in the Schanfigg valley in Graubünden with four lifts serving 32 kilometres of terrain, and because the whole area faces north it is usually reliable for snow without needing much help.

The pistes are natural snow rather than machine made, which is increasingly rare and gives a different feel underfoot. Confident skiers rate the off piste here highly and it stays untracked far longer than at the bigger resorts nearby.

There is a children's lift and a carpet for beginners and a well regarded local ski school. The village is tiny and traditional and there is very little going on in the evening. Chur is twenty minutes away and Arosa is up the same valley.
