Varingskollen

Plan the trip
A small ski area at Hakadal in Nittedal, around half an hour north of Oslo, run largely by volunteers from the local sports club. The terrain is modest with five lifts and a short vertical, and the area serves the surrounding district as a place to learn and to ski after work rather than as a destination.
Floodlit evening skiing is the main use through the dark months. The Nordmarka forest around it has an extensive cross country network, and the whole area is easy to reach from Oslo by road or by the Gjøvik railway line.
