A small mountain area at Nesbyen in Hallingdal, about two hours from Oslo, sitting high enough above the valley to hold snow well through the season. It has grown steadily and is one of the better known family destinations in this part of Norway.

The terrain is straightforward and well suited to children and improving skiers, with a good beginner area and cabins spread across the mountainside rather than gathered into a village.

The mountain plateau above has an extensive cross country network with long views across Hallingdal, and that is a large part of why families come. Nesbyen in the valley has shops and services, and the main road and railway through Hallingdal pass close by.
