Kaprun - Kitzsteinhorn/Maiskogel

Plan the trip
The Kitzsteinhorn glacier above Kaprun is one of the most reliable places to ski in Austria, reaching over 3000 metres and running from autumn well into spring. A gondola network now links the village directly to the glacier by way of the Maiskogel, so you can travel from the middle of Kaprun to 3000 metres without touching a car. That link also connects to Zell am See on the same pass, which gives a large and varied week.
The glacier terrain is mostly intermediate with a well built snowpark and a viewing platform at the top. The Maiskogel below is gentle family ground. Kaprun itself is a working village with a castle and a good spa, and the Zell am See lake is ten minutes away.
