A village in the Salzburger Sportwelt linked by lift to Flachau on one side and Alpendorf and Sankt Johann on the other, which puts a very large area within reach on one pass. The skiing is wide and sunny and mostly intermediate, with good learning areas and long descents between the villages. It is part of Ski amadé, one of the largest single lift tickets in Europe.

Wagrain is a working Salzburg village with a settled feel and prices below the better known names, and the whole valley is well set up for families. Salzburg lies about an hour off, which makes transfers straightforward.
