Lachtal

Plan the trip
A ski area in the Styrian mountains at a high altitude for this part of Austria, with the base at over 1500 metres and the top approaching 2200.
That altitude gives it a better snow record than most areas in the region, and the terrain is wide and largely intermediate with a good vertical and open ground above the treeline.
It is quiet and almost entirely domestic, in a part of Styria that sees very few international visitors. Prices are moderate and the surrounding Murau district is known for its beer and its narrow gauge railway. Graz is around ninety minutes away.
